News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Students at St Mark’s, Bath, are celebrating having received their GCSE results after years of hard work and studying. The school is delighted that achievements in public examinations across the curriculum continue to demonstrate the school’s commitment to academic excellence and sustained improvement in standards.

72% of all students gained a good pass grade in both maths and English, with almost 63% securing 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C (or equivalent for English and maths). Impressively, nearly a quarter of grades in English and maths were at grades 7-9 (equivalent to the old A*-A grade).

Students’ success in subjects across the breadth of the curriculum also highlight further impressive results, with 100% of language students securing an A*-C grade, with 55% at the highly coveted A*-A.

The school’s Headteacher, Barnaby Ash, commented, “We are proud of our students’ achievements today and wish them the very best of luck for their exciting future plans. The pace of change and progress at St Mark’s is accelerating and we are looking forward to sharing our successes with our many valued partners at the start of the new term as a sign of our ambitious plans for the future and commitment to the local young people of Bath.”
