News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Four girls from the Royal High School Bath competed at the ESSA South West Division Primary Schools Relay Gala held on Monday 30 April. The Year 6 team of Sophie Jones, Emily Jones, Ellie Gresham and Rebecca Emptage came fourth in the Small schools 100m Freestyle with a time of 1.07.57. Following a short breather, the girls re-grouped to swim again, going on to win the Small schools 100m Mixed Stroke Relay with a time of 1.14.01.

All the girls had a great swim; Emily led the way in the mixed strokes on her back, with Rebecca maintaining the lead in breaststroke before Ellie and Sophie continued the good form in front crawl to give the girls the win they wanted.

Congratulations to the Royal High School foursome who have now qualified for the National Finals at Ponds Forge ISC in Sheffield on 16 June.

Head of the Royal High Junior School, Heidi Hughes, said, “We are very proud of the girls who will fly the flag for Bath as well as the school when they compete at the National Finals. The girls are incredibly dedicated to their swimming and very much deserve the success.”
