A new series of music sessions Kiddleydivey for children aged three months to four years is now available in Bath, with a free trial available to all new members.
Kiddleydivey uses music to create themed educational activities designed to promote the individual development of every child. Developed by a music therapist, teacher and musician, Kiddleydivey has been providing music sessions for children and older adults in care homes for over 20 years. The sessions now bringing these sessions to the local area for the children of Bath and Wiltshire to enjoy.
“Sessions are fun, active and vibrant,” explained Alyson Jabelmann of Kiddleydivey. “They include singing, dancing and playing instruments with musical activities to develop key musical skills. Then we add puppet characters to engage and introduce themes, different props like the parachute and bubbles that encourage moving in time to the music. All of this helps, the whole child’s development in so many ways whilst the children are having so much fun!
“The structure and repetition within the sessions, getting the children to work as a group, helps to develop confidence, coordination, physical, language, musical, numeracy, and social skills, allowing even the most hesitant child to blossom.”
Sessions are aimed at ages from about 3 months to 4 years, with different classes for mixed ages, 0 to 2 year olds or 2 to 4 year olds.
The classes currently take place as follows –
– Monday mornings at Pewsham Community Centre, Lodge Road, Chippenham SN15 3SY, 9.30am for mixed ages, 10.15am 0 to 2 year olds
– Tuesday afternoons at St Luke’s Church Centre, Hatfield Road, Bath BA2 2BD
1.10pm mixed ages and 1.50 pm for 0 to 2 year olds.
From September, there will also be Wednesday afternoons at 1.15pm for mixed ages at Weston Hub, Penn Hill Road, Bath. BA1 4EH. More classes are planned to follow across the area, including Swindon.
Sessions cost £45 for a 10 session flexi pass, or a drop-in rate of £6 per session. Party bookings are also available for aged 5 and under, with either a 40 minute session at £60 or an hour long session for £85.
