Bath Dance is offering a free summer intensive with Performance Parkour Company, Urban Playground as part of the Made in Foxhill project. It is suitable for ages 5 and beyond, with the whole family invited to take part.

The activities takes place on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 August from 10am – 4pm and there is a performance on Saturday 18th Aug at Springfield Park, Bath. The workshops are held at St, Andrew’s Community Church in Foxhill, Bath.

“Made In Foxhill is a new arts project built with the residents of Foxhill,” explained
Bath Dance Administrator, Hannily Bendell. “We aim to bring more arts activity to the community, point out and celebrate creative skills, stories and people in the neighbourhood.

Hannily added that the Urban Playground Team is the original performance-parkour (2PK) company combining urban and contemporary dance with authentic French Free-Running. The Team has toured its performances and teaching across five continents for clients including the British Council. Since 2006 the team has included co-creator of Parkour Malik Diouf. In 2009 the Team designed and opened the UK’s first permanent parkour site, and has since launched two more. In 2013 it founded the international performance-parkour network to support the development of 2PK globally. It has appeared on BBC1’s Blue Peter and Sky1’s Got To Dance. The UPG Team is supported by South East Dance, and is ‘Playtime Artists’ at Pavilion Dance South West.
