The Royal High School Bath is in the process of looking for a successor to its current Head Mrs Jo Duncan (pictured above right) who will leave the school next year.

It was recently announced that Mrs Duncan, who has headed the all girls Girls’ Day School Trust school since 2015, will leave at the end of the current academic year in August 2019 to become Head of Wycombe Abbey School in Buckinghamshire.

The Royal High School is currently celebrating 20 years since its official foundation when The Royal School merged with Bath High School. Celebrations will continue through the 2018-2019 academic year.

Mrs Duncan said, “I am privileged to be the head of such a great school as the Royal High School which has a special place in the heart of generations of women and girls and will continue to hold a special place in my own heart when I leave.”

Chairman of Governors, Mrs Jane Robb, said, “Mrs Duncan has successfully overseen a period of tremendous growth and development at the Royal High School. We are very grateful to her for her dedication to the school and we wish her very well for the future.

“The school has never been more popular regionally and nationally thanks to the strength of its outstanding girl-centred education and its superb team of staff. We are very sad to lose Mrs Duncan but we are excited about the prospect of looking for the next leader of this wonderful school to spearhead the next stage of its development.”
