News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Year 3 & 4 children from Saltford C of E Primary School recently kicked off their Stone Age topic work with an amazing experience day.

They welcomed SG Forest School to Saltford who took the children back in time to the Stone Age to explore what life would have been like for Early man. During the day, the children discovered just how innovative and creative the Stone Age people were. They were given the opportunity to build dens, make fires, see how their ancient ancestors dressed, discovered what they ate and even sampled some Stone Age bread and honey.

When they weren’t outside, the children had a go at making Stone Age bone
necklaces, Stone Age tools and create their own Stonehenge art work. The children will now plan to see how they can take their learning further as th term progresses.
