News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Bath Pentathlon Club has been going from strength to strength since its set up in May 2015. With quality coaching in running/core work, fencing, laser shooting and occasionally swimming, the club welcomes everyone from ages eight and upwards.

The club meets at the University of Bath on Friday nights from 6-8pm.
Club chairman, Andy Gussey, explained, “Our move to the university earlier this year has been brilliant. It is really great to watch our members thrive as they train in these first class facilities.

“We have had some of our youngsters represent GB in the biathle (run, swim, run) and triathle (shoot, swim, run), European and World championships and they have come back with medals. Similarly, at the laser run world champs, where we achieved more medal success, including the U19 world champion. Laser run is a new and exciting sport, even included in this year’s school games and again Bath Pentathlon members qualified and came back with medals.

“There are many opportunities to compete in a wide range of sports but we do appreciate that not everyone wants to compete and we are quite happy for youngsters to just come and train with us and have fun as we know that this helps build confidence and self esteem.

“We are really lucky to be based in Bath, which is the UK centre for Modern Pentathlon, and to train in world class facilities with such great coaches.”

If you have taken part in a recent biathlon with your school and fancy trying out some laser shooting and fencing then come and give it a go. The first session is free. For more details, email email hidden; JavaScript is required
