News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

School children can enjoy a number of different sports in the Easter holidays as Wiltshire Council’s Get Active holiday programme returns.

Athletics, basketball, cricket, dance, dodgeball, football, gymnastics and tennis camps are being delivered at locations across Wiltshire, with each camp running from 10am – 3pm.

All activities will be delivered by qualified and experienced coaches who will help participants improve their skills and knowledge of the sports on offer.

The sports camps programme is coordinated by Wiltshire Council with support from various delivery partners including Swindon Town Football in the Community, Wiltshire Cricket, Wiltshire LTA, The Dance Lady, Innov8 Sportz CIC, South West Dodgeball and Wiltshire Basketball Association.

If you’re looking for something more varied, then Camp Activate, available at Calne, Marlborough and Devizes leisure centres, provides a range of exciting activities for young people aged 5-14 during the holidays. Each programme is packed with art, sport and history activities at affordable prices. These sessions are run by fully qualified staff in line with Ofsted guidelines.

Free swimming for under 16’s is also available again during specific sessions at 17 pools across the county. Young people are required to register for this programme in advance of attending any session.
