A brand new staging of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin visits Bath’s Theatre Royal from Tuesday 14th to Saturday 18th May on its first UK tour, marking the 25th anniversary of Louis de Bernières’ best-selling novel. Set on the Greek island of Cephalonia, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin is an unforgettable love story which evolves against the turbulent backdrop of World War II.

From the vivid descriptions of the village and its inhabitants, to the brutal life and epic sweep of the soldiers caught up in the constantly changing politics of war, this stunning new production is directed by Olivier and Tony-Award nominee Melly Still (Coram Boy, The Lovely Bones); adapted for the stage by Evening Standard Award winner and Golden Globe and BAFTA Award nominee Rona Munro (The James Plays, Rebus: Long Shadows) and includes specially commissioned music composed by Harry Blake.
