News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Families from across the region are being invited to take part in this year’s Spring in the Park following last year’s hugely successful event held at the award winning Lake Pleasure Grounds in Warminster.

The event takes place on Sunday 5 May from 11am to 4pm and to ensure that no one misses out on the fun, maps highlighting the stalls and various events will be available at the event or in advance from the Pavilion café or the Civic Centre. New this year will be a performance from the Warminster and Westbury Rock Choir, guaranteed to raise everyone’s spirits!

Visitors will find an eclectic mix of the traditional, the quirky and the different with a fun filled blend of Maypole dancing, Punch & Judy, donkey rides, a dog show presented by Charismatic Pets and Garston veterinary surgery, craft and charity stalls and a climbing wall.

There will be food and drink aplenty with a Cider Tent featuring up to eight different ciders and a stall offering Gin and Prosecco! A feast of food vendors will offer goodies ranging from pulled pork burgers to spicy chicken, chilli dogs and a choice of three different pizzas courtesy of the Wild Pizza Company.

Particularly popular with children is the Petting Farm with a variety of animals including a miniature horse, goats and sheep, plus experts on hand to answer any specific questions.

Charity stalls will feature a mix of different family friendly activities such as the curiously named Human Fruit Machine, face painting and the ever popular Test Your Strength. Visitors will also have a fantastic mix of items to browse among and buy from a selection of traditional stalls including jewellery, ranges of beautiful handcrafted products, candles, books, gifts and clothing. There will also be pocket money toys and sweets for the children.

Just £5 will buy you a cream tea from the Community Centre and other refreshments will be served up in the Pavilion Café.
