News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Puddle Ducks Swim Academy is launching its new swimming lessons for primary school-aged children at Ashwicke Hall School at Marshfield. The lessons will take place on Wednesdays after school and are aimed at children aged 4 – 10 years.

“We are so excited to be bringing Swim Academy lessons to the Bath and Wiltshire area, giving school-aged children the chance to be fearless in the water, swim strongly and have fun,” said Puddle Ducks swimming instructor Jess Fisher. “The sessions will be grouped by ability not age, with a maximum of four children to one teacher.

“At Puddle Ducks, our teachers are in the water with the children until they are confidently swimming unaided (Levels 1 and 2). This is different to, for example, leisure centre lessons where the teacher stands on the side, and means that children progress more quickly because they feel safer in the water and teachers can provide individual guidance on technique and style. Also, it means that children can join at any time, with no need to wait for the start of a term or half term.”

Jess added that while the cost is £15 per lesson, a free taster session in available, just call the office for details.

Puddle Ducks also offers weekend Swim Academy classes available at Stonar School near Atworth on Saturday afternoons, in addition to baby and pre-school swimming at these pools, as well as venues in Trowbridge, Frome and Bradford on Avon.
