Bath Air Cadets is holding a recruitment event on 22 October for young people aged from 12 to 20. The event will showcase a range of activities, including rifle drill, camp craft, adventure training and target shooting. Potential cadets are asked to bring a parent or guardian along with them on the night.
The Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) is UK-wide cadet force with more than 30,000 members aged between 12 and 20 years. It is sponsored by the Royal Air Force and aims to provide hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop its members’ skills to help them succeed in whatever they want to do.
The aims of RAFAC are to:
– Promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force among young people.
– Provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
– Encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
– And there’s one more important thing – it’s a lot of fun!
Ready for a challenge?
Cadets will have the opportunity to do things that others only dream about. Want real flight experience? No problem. How about heading out on adventurous training and camps, sometimes overseas? Or the chance to fly solo in a glider or powered aircraft when you’re 17? Normal for cadets. Competitive sports, drill, shooting, music, abseiling, engineering projects? The list of activities is long, varied and open to all cadets.
The intake night takes place from 19:45 to 21:10 at 93 (City of Bath) Squadron, Upper Bristol Road, Bath, BA1 3AE.
