News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Housing association and house builder Curo has been given the go-ahead to build a new community hub at Mulberry Park on the site of the former Foxhill MOD site in Bath. The £10 million building will include a new primary school, children’s nursery and community facilities.

The hub buildings will feature a new 210 place primary school, 70 place nursery and community facilities, within a development of 700 new homes. Reservations are already available for the homes with the first residents expected to move in during Spring 2017.

The primary school, which is due to open in September 2018 with a single form entry, is currently going through a process to appoint an academy sponsor. Curo have commented that the school will ‘benefit from high quality classroom and play spaces, including a new sports pitch.’

Architect Chris Kenny said “This is a unique project which will become a focal point for the communities of Foxhill, Combe Down and Mulberry Park. There has been a lot of community engagement from the outset to ensure that the design provides the facilities that the community will use and a building that they can feel proud of.”
