News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

A new multi-sensory singing class for mums and babies is due to start soon in Bath. Based at venues in Weston and Oldfield, Hartbeeps is aimed at babies ranging from newborn to 4 years, with all of the themed classes being accompanied by remixed lullabies.

The Bath classes will be run by Jenny Quinn, who explained, “Hartbeeps create innovative and highly interactive productions for the very young, by transforming everyday environments into colourful, tactile ‘wonderlands’. With close reference to the EYFS guidelines, our classes gently encourage little ones to gain confidence, as they explore and learn how to form those all important bonds with mums, dads and caregivers.

“Whilst also supporting cognitive and social development, babies are immersed in a sensory song wonderland. We use an array of props, sparkle chutes, puppets and lighting, to guide mum and baby through a 45 minute session timed to a musical backing track of remixed nursery rhymes, lullabies and raps.

“Each week provides a different theme, with matching accessories and costumes (the best part!). We do not scrimp on that all important humour and silliness. From classes to parties, events to theatre, Hartbeeps offer a truly unique approach to the very beginnings of the all-important journey into play and learning.”

With classes divided into Baby Bells (newborn to sitting), Baby Beeps (sitting to toddling) and Happy House (toddling to four-years, with younger sibling welcome), the Hartbeeps sessions start on 6 September with Wednesday and Thursday sessions from 9.30am at the Velo Lounge on Moorland Road, Oldfield Park, and Friday sessions from 9.30am at The All Saints Centre in Weston.
