News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Bath recently achieved their dreams when they performed in Disneyland Paris.

The 23 students made their way to Paris to perform in front of their families and thousands of international visitors, as part of the ‘Disney Performing Arts OnStage’ programme. The weekend included a vocal workshop lead by a Disney Performing Arts cast member, with the children performing in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle. The students also had an opportunity to perform on the fabulous ‘Videopolis’ stage in the centre of the park.

Their 15-minute routine was based on the theme of ‘Broadway’ and they wowed audiences with their fantastic singing and dancing. The final part of their experience saw them, along with hundreds of other Stagecoach students, dancing in their own Pre-Parade down Main Street!

Sandra Mayo, the Principal of Stagecoach Bath, said, “The students worked hard towards this performance and I was so proud to see them all on stage. For many of them it was their first time performing in front of such a big audience and they were brimming with confidence.

“When I asked the students what their highlights from the experience were, one student summed it up perfectly saying ‘Everything was a highlight!’ We all made life-long memories at Disneyland this summer.”

The Disneyland Performing Arts Program annually showcases hundreds of amateur groups and their talented performers. It is designed to offer a glimpse into Disney’s world of entertainment, by offering a unique, once in a lifetime experience of becoming a Disney performer for the day.

Stagecoach Performing Arts Bath is part of a network of more than 600 part-time Theatre Arts Schools Worldwide. Early Stages classes are available for children aged 4 to 6 and Main Stages classes take place for 6 to 18-year olds.
