News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

The final event in a countywide skate competition, supported by Wiltshire Council comes to Melksham’s popular skate park on 21 July.

Youngsters from across the area will head to Melksham’s new skatepark with prizes at stake in a number of disciplines in the finale of this year’s Wiltshire Skate Series.

The Fifth Skatepark, in King George V Playing Fields, has proven to be a huge success since opening nearly a year ago. The investment was part of the Melksham Campus project which has also seen major improvements to the Market Place, the creation of brand new football and rugby facilities at Oakfields, and a new cricket pavilion for the town.

During the Wiltshire Skate Series there are open contests in skateboarding, BMX, scooters and inline skating. All are free to enter.

All competitors must be at least 11, and registration begins at 10am.

The three previous events in the series were staged at Devizes, Calne and Salisbury.
