Adults and children are being invited to sign up for the 2018 Saltford Santa Dash which will take place this year on 2 December.
Now in its sixth year, this popular fun run consists of a five mile course for adults and the over 12s and a shorter two lap Mini Dash around the Saltford Sports club field for the children. Santa suits are provided for all the participants and everyone will receive a Santa Dash medal.
Registration opens on 1 September and closes on the 26 November.
The Santa Dash is a charity event that raises money for local charities. Last year over 900 runners helped raise over £12,000 for the Jessie May Children’s Hospice thanks to support from generous sponsors and the local community.
Paul Goddard, chair of the organising committee, said, “Over the last five years the Dash has gone from strength to strength, and remained true to its original concept – a charity fun run. The Dash is a local endeavour; the committee are all local volunteers, as are all the helpers and marshals on the day who give their time to make this a success.
In 2018 we hope to exceed 1,000 competitors and raise over £12,000 for local charities. Please come and get involved! Run it, walk it, sponsor it, volunteer to help with it! You are all welcome. See you on the 2nd December.”
