The Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon has announced a summer of fun family activities in August, that includes a month of music, drama and craft activities for young people from 18 months to 18 years.

Activities range from week-long music and drama courses for older children, to storytelling and craft workshops for toddlers. What’s more, for the first time this summer, bands and solo musicians aged under 25 can hire fully-equipped rehearsal spaces at the Wiltshire Music Centre for just £5 per hour, as part of the Plug In, Plug Out sessions.

Fidgety Feet
Thursday 9 August 9.30-10.20am / 10.30-11.20am

Join Fidgety Feet for a space- themed interactive dance, drama and storytelling workshop for children aged 18 months – 5 yrs. It’s going to be out of this world!
18 months – 5 yrs.: £7 child / £2 adults.
Babes in arms attend for free!

Little Piccolos
Wed 15 August 9.30-10.20am / 10.30-11.20am

Ella Emery leads a fun, interactive workshop filled with singing, playing instruments and moving to music to help inspire young minds. Start to explore music with interactive songs and colourful props. Participants will also be joined by guest musicians to demonstrate a range of instruments.
1 – 2 yrs.: 9.30am / 3 – 5 yrs.: 10.30am £7 child / £2 adults.
Siblings under 1 year old attend for free!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Explore favourite nursery rhymes with Chrissie Weltike through songs, creative activities and messy play.

Magical Dragons

Enter the enchanted world of dragons in this fun, sensory session including songs, a story and a chance to make your very own fire breathing dragon, led by Chrissie.

Animate A Short Film
Monday 13 August 10am-3pm
Do you want to make your own animated film but don’t know where to start? Claire from Make it! will show you loads of fun ideas and neat tricks to bring your story characters to life in this fun animation workshop.
9+ years: £25.
U9s welcome if accompanied by an adult

Puppet Making
Monday 20 August 1-3pm
Join Chrissie for puppet making and then create a simple story around your characters.
5 – 7 yrs.: £10 child / £2 adults

Dragon Adventure

Join Chrissie to create a dragon and his habitat (complete with treasure).

Devising Drama

Rockstar Wristwear

Do you want some wristwear that’s cool enough for a rock star? Cook up amazing bracelets in a clay oven or make cool badges or buttons to wear on your jacket, with Claire from Make It!

Are you a young musician looking to develop skills and find a place to rehearse, either as a group or solo? Throughout August we are offering fully-equipped rehearsal space for band musicians under 25 for just £5 an hour!
U25s. £5 per hour

Rock Band
Monday 6 August – Friday 10 August 1-3pm / 3.30-5.30pm

Rock the week with Jack Jennings and create your own band! An opportunity for young people who play an instrument to come together with other local musicians, learn to play as a group and work towards performances.
U18s: Beginner 1pm / Intermediate 3.30pm. £80 (5 days)

Young Composers
Tuesday 29 – Thursday 30 August 10am-3pm

A three-day project to create original music based on a folk take, led by composer Kate Courage.
12 – 19 yrs. £80 (three days)

Zone Club Taster
Friday 24 August 10am-12pm

Zone Club offers young adults with additional needs a platform to create their own music, lyrics, dance and films supported by expert musicians and musical therapists. Zone Club is delivered here at the Wiltshire Music Centre on the first Saturday of every month. Come along to this exclusive summer taster session to meet new people and try out the group – take the lead and get creative!
