News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Wise Nanny has launched a new series of parents’ workshops offering practical guidance and support for parents and nannies.

The workshops are designed to cover specific aspects of raising children focussing on some of the challenges faced by parents, including bumbs to babies the first nine months, weaning, sleep issues, managing behaviour, technology and screen time, sibling rivalry, tweens and teens, and transitions.

The new courses taking place during September and October at venues around Bath, are all about Successfully Managing Behaviour. The workshop will help parents identify the behaviour that they want; learn strategies to achieve it; and build their confidence to help stay calm, consistent and in control.

“After the summer holidays when everyone goes back to school, parents often feel the need for a fresh start,” explained Vikki Matcham from Wise Nanny. “They can feel frazzled and worn out or guilty that they weren’t able to spend time with their children over the holidays. Or perhaps, they just want to start the new term with a positive focus on the children’s behaviour.”

“We are passionate about supporting parents; we want to help them be the best parents they can be. We balance theoretical knowledge with real world understanding and experience; giving parents the skills and confidence to provide the very best for their children or the children in their care.”

The workshops take place on

12 September, St Lukes Church Centre, Wellsway, Bath.

27 September All Saints Centre, Weston, Bath.

25 October, New Oriel Hall, Bath.

The courses cost £70 each, although a 15% discount is available for all readers of The Bath & Wiltshire Parent.

If families feel they need more individual support, Wise Nanny also provide a personal consultancy service.
