A red carpet event has been held to celebrate the achievements of people who have stepped back into education. Wiltshire Council’s Family and Community Learning team celebrated learner achievements at a ceremony at Trowbridge Civic Centre on 31 July 2019.
The service, funded by Education and Skills Funding Agency, supports learners who may have missed opportunities in life due to educational, social, or other circumstances. The event was attended by learners and their families, who enjoyed an evening of entertainment, raffle prizes and a buffet.
The service has encouraged more than 200 learners back into learning this year. Many were unemployed at the start but have used Wiltshire Family and Community Learning as a springboard to improvement and progression to further learning, working and volunteering.
The awards were presented by members of the service’s Governance Board with the winners chosen by an external panel of judges.
