The new St Saviour’s Schools formal collaboration is up and running. Last academic year, St Saviour’s Infant School and St Saviour’ Junior School in Larkhall, Bath, decided to formally join. Under this new structure, the schools is aiming to enhance the educational experience of children from the nursery all the way through to Year 6.
Plans are already in place for joint activities and cross-school teacher professional development. All the children in both schools will have full access to an extensive inside and outside provision across two sites, including a purpose built nursery, play bus, giant sand pit, large wooded area for forest school, two sports pitches, two large halls, courtyards, grass areas, libraries, a computer suite and a range of climbing equipment.
Mr Joe Beament, the new Executive Headteacher of both schools, is ready for a busy and exciting year. “The new structure has opened the doors to huge opportunities for both the staff and children in our schools,” he explained. “With the extensive grounds and facilities of both schools now available to all the children across the St Saviour’s family, the pupils will have a huge range of play, education and sporting facilities. It is rare to be able to bring together specialist teachers and staff from a nursery, infant and junior setting to share expertise and learning from each other. It’s a really exciting time for everyone at St Saviour’s.”
Mr Beament and the St Saviour’s team are looking forward to opening the doors and welcoming new prospective parents during the Nursery Open Week between 14-18 October (click here to book a place) and the schools ‘2020 Prospective Reception Children’s Open Events’ on 22, 23 and 24 October.
