The Play In A Week workshop is returning to the egg theatre in Bath this October half term, giving children aged seven to 12 years a chance to enjoy learning theatrical skills and take part in performing their own original play.
Play In A Week has been running for several years, giving children the opportunity to work alongside professional directors, creating their own unique plays, which they will then have the amazing opportunity to perform on the Ustinov stage. The children will work as an ensemble to discover characters, create worlds and explore different forms of storytelling.
No former drama experience is needed, with the children split into two classes, one for seven to nine year olds, and one for 10-12 year olds.
“Play in a Week is a chance for young people to be empowered – it is for those who are itching to step out onto the stage, to hear and see their stories and voices come to life, to form new friendships, and for those looking to build in confidence and creative bravery,” explained Alex Duarte-Davies, Executive Director of the Theatre Royal Bath Theatre School.
The workshop runs from Monday 28 Oct to Friday 1 November, from 10am-4pm each day. The cost is £120 for the full week, with limited bursary places available.
