News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Making decisions for your child’s future can seem a daunting task for many parents, particularly if you’re the parent of a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Finding out what is available post-16 can be difficult, so Fosse Way School, Three Ways School and Bath College have teamed up to create The Preparing for Adulthood Fair, an opportunity for parents and carers to gather information and ask questions about the transition process and in particular the services and options available to them.

The fair takes place on 14 November from 4-8pm at the Wellow House SEND Centre, Bath College, Somer Valley Campus.

Local, Specialist & Residential Colleges will be represented to give information about courses and the support available. Care providers will be able to provide advice on the services they can offer, with local authority representatives, housing associations and direct payment advisers all present. The evening will also provide information about local clubs, activities and day services. This transition event will be covering services available within the counties of B&NES, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Stallholders include:

Bath College
Farleigh College
Fairfield Farm College
Project SEARCH Royal United Hospital
Project SEARCH BANES Council
Supported living services
Bath Rugby Foundation
and many more.

Parents and carers are welcome to drop in between 4pm and 8pm, with a quiet room available for young people who do not wish to look around.

Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

The event is designed to help parents and carers feel more positive about planning their child’s future and find out about the number of options and support available for their child.
