News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Midda Martial Arts has launched a series of regular karate classes at the Bath Sports & Leisure Centre for children aged three years old and upwards. And mum and dad can join in too!

The classes take place on Thursdays, from 4-4.30pm for three to five year olds and from 5-5.45pm for six years old and upwards, with parents and children welcome to train together.

“Our classes are not just punches and kicks,” explained James Cox, the founder of Midda Martial Arts. “We also focus on building fantastic life skills for children and adults, whether that be increased self-confidence, channeling energy or pent up frustration, listening skills, increased ability to focus and self-defence.

“Our instructors have 20 years combined experience in the teaching profession and we aspire to give our students the absolute best training through excellent teaching techniques, positive motivational communication, an inspirational teaching environment and character building conversations in classes.

“Alongside the classes that we run at the leisure centre, students can log-on to online tuition to help them stay fit and confident on their moves at home.”

In addition to the Bath classes, Midda Martial Arts also offers classes at Clarendon School and Castle Mead Primary schools in Trowbridge, and Frome College. The lesson times for these venues are –
