Five pupils from Saltford Primary School recently used their skills as Digital Leaders to good use by helping out members of the local community with any problems they had with their i-pads, phones and laptops.
The pupils, led by Miss Hansford, helped about 10 people during the event at Saltford Hall, with Poppy from Class JG commenting, “I helped a lady to upload a photograph as an attachment to an email on her iPad. The lady was really pleased that I could help her and liked the end result. The same lady asked me to show her how to create a folder within email and then move some messages into this folder. I enjoyed sharing my skills.”
Ciaran, also from Class JG, added, “I was able to help a gentleman set up a new phone he had been given. I explained about mobile data. I also gave him some help with setting up his e-mail on his new phone and gave him help with wi-fi.”
“Saltford school has always been at the heart of the community,” said Headteacher, Dawn Sage. “We enjoy sharing the school at social and other events, and participating in village life. We are also extremely grateful for the diverse contribution that many members of the community make towards the running of the school and the quality of our pupils’ experience.”
