A trio of competitors from Bath’s Fish Trampoline Club collected medals at the British Schools Trampoline finals which took place earlier this month in Southampton.
Hebe Gumbleton from Hayesfield School took the gold medal and became British Champion, while Aimee Marsh of Ralph Allen School and Georgia Bannister of Norton Hill School both took silver.
All three competitors also gained medals in the two preliminary rounds leading up to the finals.
All three athletes training schedules were increased by Coach Simon Briffett at the beginning of September 2019 with some of them training as much as twelve hours a week to guarantee their competitive edge.
“All three girls have done amazingly well considering they have all been studying for mock exams,” said Simon. “They all deserve their awards and I am extremely proud of them.
“Training at Hayesfield School’s amazing sports facilities with the backing of physical education has been wonderful, allowing us to train during exams. Hayesfield boasts an amazing sports curriculum catering for GCSE and A-Level sports with trampolining being one of them. Hayesfield’s continued support and a seven year partnership with Fish Trampoline Club has undoubtedly helped with the clubs continued success and is a true measure of everyone’s achievements.
“The club will be expanding in 2020 and will be looking for more competitors. Anybody with an interest in competitive trampolining can take a look at the clubs website www.fishtrampolineclub.co.uk or call 07814 545111.”
