Staff and students at Hayesfield School in Bath have teamed up with the Facebook group Scrubs For The NHS to call on families across the region to help them to produce laundry bags for NHS workers at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. So far this wonderful effort has resulted in an amazing 463 bags being produced – but more are needed.
“The staff at the RUH are in need of drawstring bags to put their uniforms in between seeing critically ill patients and when they have finished their shift,” explained Cerys Gasson from Hayesfield.”This means that the whole bag can go straight into the washing machine without contaminating anything else.
The team has produced a Youtube video, which you can see by clicking here, which gives full instructions on how to make the bags. In addition, there is also a GoFundMe page for raising money for fabric and threads, which can be found here.
For anyone who is able to help, it is important that you do not deliver the bags directly to the hospital. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Cerys at email hidden; JavaScript is required who will explain how and where to donate your bags. Happy Sewing!
