Staff and students at Hayesfield School in Bath have teamed up with the Facebook group Scrubs For The NHS to call on families across the region to help them to produce laundry bags for NHS workers at the Royal United Hospital in Bath. So far this wonderful effort has resulted in an amazing 463 bags being produced – but more are needed.

The team has produced a Youtube video, which you can see by clicking here, which gives full instructions on how to make the bags. In addition, there is also a GoFundMe page for raising money for fabric and threads, which can be found here.

For anyone who is able to help, it is important that you do not deliver the bags directly to the hospital. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Cerys at email hidden; JavaScript is required who will explain how and where to donate your bags.

We just love this…

To help people who are struggling right now, the very lovely people at Wiltshire Rural Music are offering ‘musical phone calls’ to people of all ages who might feel the benefit of having a chat, listening to some live music and being taken out of the loneliness of their average day.
“I just made our first call and sang a Bob Dylan and a Buddy Holly song to someone living with dementia in Calne,” said one of the team. “He was tapping his feet to it and seemed to really enjoy the experience.”

If you are a carer, or a family member at home with someone who could benefit from this in any way, contact the Wiltshire Music Team here. If you also let us know the type of music they especially enjoy, we can try and find musicians to suit their needs.

Thanks to local mum Ellie who told us about the regular YouTube Lets Go Live show from Cbeebies presenter Maddie Moate, airing each day at 11pm. Aimed at younger children (but enjoyed by older kids and grown-ups too!), the latest episodes include a wonderful guide to how our bodies work!
