News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

A new holiday club has come to Bath for the summer, offering outdoor-based activities for children aged 4 to 11 years. The Power of Play Holiday Club has been launched by the team from Midford Road Nursery and will run for six weeks from 20 July.

“We are totally outdoor-based, on the Glasshouse playing fields in Combe Down, with cover from beautiful bell tents, spacious marquees and lots of room to run!” explained Amy Parfitt, Director of The Power of Play Consultancy & Midford Road Nursery/Oldfield Road Nursery. “Our creative staff team will be providing all kinds of activities, experiences and opportunities for the children to follow their imaginations and create memories. We’ll spend time exploring the base on the playing field, but also venture out to local woods, fields and open spaces to create our own adventures!

“The Power of Play Holiday Club has been created as a place for children to play and be with their friends after such a long time at home. We believe strongly in the benefits of play for children of all ages! It is so valuable both in terms of physical and mental wellbeing, and simply as a wonderful way for children to spend their time together.”

The holiday club is open from Mondays to Thursdays, running from 8.30am to 5.30pm each day. The cost of a session is £35. While the children will need to bring their own packed lunch and water bottle, fresh fruit is available for snacks.
