Families from across the Bath region are being invited to take part in a new and exciting activity, The Secret Run.
The Secret Run Series is a brand new running experience for adventure seekers. It’s a fun, safe and secret running adventure where you are in control of your route. The secret is, you will not know where your adventure will take you until the morning of the run. You will choose your distance and will then be told when and where to start, but from there your adventure begins!
Designed for families and individual runners, you choose a course and unlock new locations as you go until you discover the secret finish line. Once you reach a checkpoint, you will receive a notification on your phone to your next checkpoint, until you reach the secret finish line. Whether you’re running against the clock or at your leisure, your secret run is carefully designed to keep you safe while achieving a goal and being outdoors.
There are three routes to choose from: the 5k Explorer Route, great for the families with energetic children; the tougher 10k Challenger run; or you can have a crack at the 21k Trailblazer route. As you navigate between the checkpoints, you will be combining a challenging run through the city and surrounds with the excitement and intrigue of creating your own course.
The team behind the Secret Run are an experienced lot, after many years working on mass participation events throughout the UK. As Bathonian’s themselves, they are excited to bring this new event concept to Bath this Autumn. Following on from the hundreds of runners who have taken to the streets during lockdown, the Secret Run is designed to capture this new enthusiasm for getting outdoors. The event has been carefully designed to ensure that everyone feels happy, comfortable and safe, while taking part in the event. With multiple routes, different start lines and restricted numbers, it allows teams to adhere to social distancing requirements and ensures they are following the correct regulations around outdoor gatherings.
