Giddy Flamingo offers a range of options from vintage tea parties, Mad Hatters tea parties and buffets, to picnic boxes, party planning and vintage crockery hire.
Giddy Flamingo is owned and run by Jo, who is the baking expert, and Sarah, who oversees the admin and social media. “Since we started the company just over two years ago, we’ve been gradually building up a great range of clients, mainly catering for hen parties and birthday parties,” explained Sarah. “These events are so popular both for family events and friends just looking for a delicious excuse to get together, enjoy each other’s company and indulge in some tasty, fresh party food!”
“During lockdown, we’ve taken the opportunity to diversify by offering a regular selection of cakes, which have proved very popular indeed. However, as lockdown has eased, our picnic hampers and picnic boxes are again proving very popular as the ideal way to meet up with friends and family again.
“We’ve also just catered for our first ‘coming out of lockdown’ wedding – we loved designing our wedding afternoon tea picnic boxes for this, and the bride and groom were delighted! The picnic boxes looked beautiful, while also meaning that the wedding guests did not have to share food (as per a normal buffet) and could socially distance whilst eating. We are now hoping to get more wedding bookings, and have also had several ‘Celebration of Life’ bookings recently as well.”
Looking ahead, Sarah added that they’re looking forward to catering for even more family get-togethers and parties, as well as providing full tea parties including all vintage crockery/tablecloths.
“By working within the COVID guidelines, we’ve been able to keep offering our parties to families and groups across the region, and also to welcome new customers who are keen to experience the unique charm of the vintage crockery that we can supply. It really is the perfect way to make a family event that little bit more special.”
