News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

The Crescendo School of Music and Art is now offering lessons for students aged from three and a half years old to adults across the Bath and West Wiltshire region. The lessons are available both face to face and online.

“After visiting my partner’s family home in Bradford on Avon in 2014, I fell in love with the area and now I’m so excited and happy to have the opportunity to expand my teaching team all the way from London to Bath and nearby towns,” explained Vita Martinenko, the school’s founder and tutor. “This means we are able to offer the highest standards of private music education within the comfort of your own home, and covering a variety of musical styles and disciplines.”

Vita explained that the school was originally founded in London, where it currently has over 100 happy students learning various musical instruments including guitar, violin, saxophone, clarinet, drums and many more. “We are so happy to be able to share our expertise now with students in the Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset areas, where we can offer lessons in piano, vocals and music theory,” she added.

“From an early point in the lessons, we will discuss with students and their parents what their aims are, whether it’s a hobby or working towards exams. Either way, we always ensure that the learning process is enjoyable, fun and helps fulfil and discover everyone’s best potential. Then throughout, we will encourage all students to study and practise towards ABRSM and RSL exams, covering all grades in instrumental practice and music theory.”

Vita explained that the school’s values are –

  • Individual approach – everyone is unique and learns differently;
  • Play more of what makes you happy – the student is always taking part in choosing the programme within the syllabus;
  • Quality of teaching – curated and assessed on a regular basis;
  • Communication – regular term reports are sent to the students’ parents and handover is given right after the lesson on a weekly basis.

While face to face lessons cost £35 per hour, £29 per 45 minutes and £22 per half an hour, online options are discounted by £4 each
