News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Bath caterers, Tu Mangetout, has donated 50 free meals to the First Steps Nurseries in Bath to help out local families.

The generous donation came about as a result of First Step’s Roz Lambert detailing the community projects that are run by the nurseries, during an interview on Radio Bath.

“I spoke about the free meals that First Steps provides to all children from low-income families who attend First Steps community nurseries and Bath Opportunity Preschool, meals that are funded entirely through charitable donations,” recalled Roz. “At a time when so many families are struggling with self-isolation and worrying about income, children’s well-being and the safety of vulnerable family members, having a delicious meal supplied at no cost can make a real difference.

“It was so wonderful that as a result of the interview, Theresa from Tu Mangetout got in touch to offer to help out with a wonderful act of kindness. We are so grateful to Theresa and it’s wonderful to show the families who we work with that people do care.”

“When I heard Roz on Bath radio, I decided it was a wonderful cause so donated 50 of our over-ready meals to families at First steps,” said Theresa. “While the main work of Tu Mangetout is an event catering company catering for weddings, private dining, parties, during these challenging times we have had to learn to diversify. One of the results of this is that I have been cooking and delivering individually cooked meals across the Bath region, and decided to collect meal donations for charity. So far I have had 400 meal donations supplied to local causes including Bath City Farm and now First Steps too.”
