The children at Corsham Regis Primary Academy have enjoyed a visit from Wiltshire Cricket’s Under 12s Girls Coach, Vicky Hathway as part of the county wide ‘Chance to Shine’ cricket programme.
The programme was designed to help schools to pass on cricketing skills to their children, with the Corsham Regis pupils enjoying the chance to learn some new sporting skills. Each class in Key Stage 2 took part and a variety of catching, bowling and batting skills were practised ready for the Summer months ahead.
“This is the third year that Wiltshire Cricket have been in to deliver their ‘Chance to Shine’ programme, with a total of 113 pupils able to take part,” said Kate Bagnall, PE Co-ordinator at Corsham Regis. “The children greatly benefitting from the expert coaching and it was amazing to see how quickly their skills developed. Next summer, we are hoping to plan some inter-class matches to really make the most of all they have learnt”.
