“Without you and your hypnobirthing techniques I honestly don’t know how we would have got through it!” These are the words of first time mum, Camilla, who approached Georgina Yeates of Rosebud Hypnobirthing to help her through her first birthing experience.
Bath-based mum-to-be Georgina worked locally as a Norland Nanny for nine years before studying to teach Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing and creating Rosebud Hypnobirthing.
“My passion for hypnobirthing began when I started to hear more and more about the positive birth experiences of friends and families who had used this method,” said Georgina. “After researching everything that I could about KGHypnobirthing, I was hooked and realised that this was the perfect next step, combining my nannying skills and my newfound enthusiasm for making a difference to birthing experiences.
“The Rosebud course is taught over four sessions and is designed to expel any of those misconceptions and fears surrounding the birth. I cover everything from the power of the mind and what a useful tool this can be when giving birth, to making sure you know your various options and preferences during the birth itself, helping mums-to-be to achieve a confident and calm birth that is right for them.”
Georgina explained that she works with mums-to-be so that they understand the different relaxation and breathing techniques, alongside how to visualise the experience to provide another tool to draw upon during birth.
“I encourage birth partners to attend all sessions in the course as they learn how to support a labouring mother and what role they can play during the labour. I have seen first hand how hypnobirthing works and how gaining the knowledge and understanding can help you achieve a calm and confident birth experience.”
Georgina offers both private classes and group classes both at her house or visiting a client’s home. Private courses are £350 per couple (plus travel outside of the Bath and Wiltshire area travel). Group classes are available for £250 a couple, for up to four couples at a time, which allows the experience to be shared with likeminded couples.
