Great news for junior rock stars – after a year of successfully teaching online, The Rock Project rock and pop school is once again offering face to face teaching and band sessions across the Bath and Wiltshire region!
The Rock Project has been in the area for over five years, running weekly after-school sessions in Bath, Trowbridge and Chippenham. Over the past year, the pandemic caused all of its teaching to be transferred to an online format. After the success of its virtual online weekly teaching and free lockdown learning programme ‘Rock at Home’, the school has made a greatly anticipated return to physical sessions.
From Monday 19 April, The Rock Project has been providing expert tuition for students aged 7-18 across the region, on guitar, bass, drums and vocals. As part of what’s on offer, students have instrumental tuition from professional tutors and take part in band sessions to put into practice what they have learned, all within the current government guidelines.
“We can’t really believe we have got here,” explained Mike Aris, organiser of The Rock Project Bath, Trowbridge and Chippenham. “After a year of uncertainty for us and the students, it’s fantastic that we have managed to return to a sense of normality, and we strive to bring inspiration and fun to all of our students.
“We want to reach out to all the young musicians in the area. Some may have got their first instrument during lockdown, been missing making music or been desperate to learn something new. So to those young musicians, this is our open invitation for you to come and try out our sessions to see what we do.”
The Rock Project is currently offering free taster sessions for 7-18 year olds, across all instruments and locations. All abilities are welcome, from beginners to advanced, instruments can be provided at the session at no extra cost.
