News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Swimcentral is back in the pool from 19 April, offering swimming lessons for babies, toddlers, children and adults. And as instructor Lisa Sumbler says, “We can’t wait to welcome all our swimmers!”

Swimcentral is a family-friendly swim school which teaches pupils from two years old and upwards. “We have small groups and private lessons for both children and adults,” explains Lisa. “Every swimming lesson is packed with a wide variety of activities. We encourage adults and children to enjoy the water and have fun while they swim!

“For toddlers, our lessons offer the perfect opportunity to introduce your baby or toddler to the world of water – yes, the adults join in the fun too by being in the water with their littles ones! This includes games, confidence-boosting activities and lots of exploration.

“We give you the tools to get your started, allowing you to know what to do when you are in the water with your little one, while learning how to help them splash and keep them safe.

There’s always plenty fun during Swimcentral sessions

“For older children, we offer a clear, structured swimming programme with seven stages, following a nationally recognised plan for swimming developed by Swim England.

“Then for adults, we can help for everyone from complete beginners who are nervous of the water to more experienced swimmers who want to develop their stroke, breathing techniques, timing and swim skills.”

“The team at Bath Swim Central are ace,” added one very happy customer. During Covid, they have been really great and have done a really good job in difficult circumstances. We are really happy we are able to take the kids swimming each week. Well done all of you”

“We just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the work you guys do! I know these are unsettling time but you’ll always have a loyal costumer here!”

The RUH hydrotherapy pool – ideal for Swimcentral lessons

Swimcentral teaches from two venues in Bath – the hydrotherapy pool at RUH, Weston, and the Prior Park College pool, Combe Down. Weekdays after school and weekend lessons are available at the hydrotherapy pool, RUH, while Sunday morning lessons take place at Prior Park College.
