St Margaret’s Prep in Calne has raised £2500 for Melksham-based charity, Wiltshire Mind.
The Wiltshire school chose the charity as the pupils wanted to help it support those people suffering with mental health problems, particularly during these unsettling times.
The school has held a number of fundraising events over the past 12 months, including a festive fundraiser and an Everest Challenge. Pupils raised over £1,100 in a sponsored event to scale a climbing wall multiple times to collectively ascend Mount Everest (8,849m).
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Mind said, “The coronavirus pandemic is having a significant impact on our mental health. We rely on the generosity of people in the community to raise the £465 per day needed to provide mental health support for the people of Wiltshire. The generous donation from St Margaret’s will help fund a youth support group.”
