After 17 months without fans at Twerton Park for league football, Bath City FC return to action in style this Saturday 14 August with a match against Billericay Town, and there’s a variety of special activities taking place to encourage families to come along and enjoy the action.
Pre-match, the fun starts outside the ground with ice cream for children and a bar for the adults. Then on entry, everyone can pick up a free fixture card while the first 200 children will get a free footie clapper or mini-football.
Once inside supporters will be entertained by local duo Jiggidy, who’ll get the singing started with a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone, before professional opera singer Anthony Flaum brings the final touch of class with what’s sure to be a rousing performance of Nessun Dorma, the evocative theme of Italia 90.
“We’re so excited to be back in action at Twerton Park this Saturday and can’t wait to welcome fans old and new to the game,” said City General Manager Carole Banwell. “We’ve always wanted to make this a special occasion for all of our fans, including the many families who attend, and we’re pretty sure the pre-match singing off You’ll Never Walk Alone and then Anthony treating us to Nessun Dorna will have the hairs standing up on the backs of everyone’s necks.”
Bath City have signed a talented group of new players with Football League and Scottish Premier League experience for the new season, to complement a core of more familiar faces from the last few seasons. Together they’ve scored 23 goals in pre-season matches, promising much entertainment at Twerton Park.
Fans are encouraged to make sure they arrive early to savour every moment of Bath City’s Grand Homecoming.
