The Rock Project rock and pop music school has welcomed a new owner and session leader, with Danny White taking over from Mike Aris.
Since 2015, The Rock Project has been running sessions for young rockstars in the Bath and Wiltshire area, and its success is due to ‘rock on’ as it welcomes a new owner and session leader.
The Rock Project offers children ages 7-18 the opportunity to learn electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals from a team of professional musicians, as well as the experience of playing together in a band in order to boost their musical skills and self confidence. Sessions run weekly after school, in Bath, Trowbridge and Chippenham.
Local professional musician Danny White will be taking over the ownership and management of the sessions in the area after the decision that current owner Mike Aris will be stepping down after six years in the role, in order to move on to other musical projects.
Mike said “I’m very sad to be leaving but equally so excited for Danny to be taking over. His musicianship and personality makes him the perfect fit to take over and keep the sessions rocking. But above all, the students think Danny is great, and they’re just as pumped for him to take over, as I and the other tutors are.”
Danny has been tutoring at The Rock Project with Mike since sessions started in 2015, having previously graduated with a BA(Hons) in Music, and forging a career as a gigging freelance musician and running the successful Bath based brass band Horning Glory.
“As working professionals, it’s our responsibility to take less experienced musicians under our wing and guide them through the industry,” said Danny. “Over the last six years, The Rock Project has given me the opportunity to pass on my skills and knowledge to budding rockstars in the South West and I am honoured to be taking a bigger role in Bath and Wiltshire. Let’s get to work!”
Over the past 13 years The Rock Project has developed into the UK’s leading school for children’s contemporary music tuition, teaching 7-18 year olds at more than 70 schools nationwide.
