Happy Days Bath welcomed families and friends to celebrate its 30th birthday with a quintessential ‘cream tea’ garden party and raised much needed funds for Children’s Hospice South West

The nursery recently graded Good by Ofsted, is located on Kellaway Lane and invited existing families from in and around Bath to join staff and children for a garden party. The day gave families a great opportunity to come together for a fantastic morning of carnival style activities, tea and cake and collectively, the nursery group raised £1,350 with more money due to come in for the Children’s Hospice South West.

The garden party began at 10am with a great selection of cakes for sale to raise money for the hospice. The children and families made carnival masks, guessed the teddy’s name and enjoyed artistic face painting while eating a wonderful selection of cakes and treats. A number of extremely generous local businesses like Hotel Chocolate, My Small World, Cook, Little Theatre and Fudge Factory donated a variety of raffle prizes to the nursery. The team was overwhelmed by the support they received from the community and are immensely grateful for all of the support given on the day.

“We were extremely excited to be able to be able to open our doors again for our parents and I’d like to thank all of our staff at Bath for their commitment to making the birthday party so special,” said Julia Gale, Nursery Manager at Happy Days Bath. “It was a great opportunity not only to be able to celebrate 30 years of exceptional childcare where every child shines, but also to have our families back inside the setting after so long. We had a morning filled with fun whilst raising money for a wonderful charity – the Children’s Hospice South West. Here’s to the next 30 years!”

Bernadette Chambers, Area Fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West, added, “We are so grateful to Happy Days nurseries for their support of The Big South West Cream Tea, in what is the 30th anniversary year for both of our organisations. Happy Days’ support will help us to continue offering vital care to over 500 children and families across the South West that access our hospices for support.”
