News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Year 4 pupils from St Margaret’s Prep in Calne have taken place in an inter-school maths competition at King Edward’s School in Bath.

The pupils took on a number of challenges during the two hour event, including sudoku, domino puzzles and tangrams, showing excellent teamwork, communication and plenty of perseverance to solve some very tricky problems. A very close competition saw one of the St Margaret’s teams taking third spot, only slightly behind two schools who took a joint victory.

“This was a great opportunity for the children – they loved it,” said Sarah Harlock, a Year 3 teacher and maths subject leader. “It was nice to see everyone back competing with other schools and problem solving. Thank you to King Edward’s for hosting.”
