News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Music Clubs have started back in full force this term at The Paragon School, with two new choirs added in addition to orchestra, brass group and samba drumming – Rock Choir and Paragon Abbey Singers.

Rock choir is proving particularly popular with nearly 40 members from all Prep year groups coming to sing and dance to upbeat songs such as The Power in Me and Mambo Italiano. Rehearsals have already commenced for the school’s participation in Young Voices 2022 next year, when the young singers will be taken to a concert in Resorts World Arena in Birmingham to sing songs from a diverse repertoire including a Lion King medley and an arrangement of Orff’s ‘O Fortuna’!

Among the pupils taking part, Tilly in Year 6 said, “I love the energy of Rock Choir, even at the end of the day when we are tired, and we are all so excited about going to Young Voices in January.”

“Having participated in the Bath Abbey Singing programme in 2020, we were delighted to welcome back Shean Bowers to the Paragon and so launched the Paragon Abbey Singers on Wednesday mornings,” said Sarah Kettlety, Director of Music. “For such an early club, Shean gets a great sound from our singers as well as making them all giggle. We look forward to seeing this group perform in Bath Abbey later in the year.”
