News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Over the months of May and June, Keynsham will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with activities for residents of all ages. An augmented reality High Street trail, a community film project and a picnic in Keynsham Memorial Park will mark 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

The film and trail are coming to the town as part of Keynsham’s new Local Cultural Programme, which brings fun, innovative pop-up street events and activities to the Town Centre. The programme is led by Keynsham Cultural Consortium with support from Bath & North East Somerset Council and funding from Historic England, as part of the High Street Heritage Action Zones scheme. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail

Keynsham Cultural Consortium has teamed up with High Street Safari to run a free, augmented reality story-trail on Keynsham High Street from 30 April to 12 June.

This innovative experience lets families choose what happens in the story. As you discover characters at each of the seven stops, you can scan unique QR codes to collect stamps, meet the characters as they come to life in AR and learn about one of the decades of the Queen’s reign.

All you will need to participate is a smart device. Information and a map can be accessed via the project website www.hikeynsham.co.uk/event/jubileebeacontrail/.

Keynsham Jubilee Conversations – A Film Project

Keynsham residents of all ages and backgrounds are invited to join one of our filming sessions in Keynsham Memorial Park. Bring along a piece of memorabilia, a photo or just a thought or memory about the Queen, the royal family and jubilee celebrations gone by.
