News, events and schools' information for families across Bath and West Wiltshire

Local baby and child swim school, Puddle Ducks Bristol and Bath, has announced its child-led lessons will be reintroduced at the large private pool in the grounds of Ashwicke Hall, near Marshfields in Wiltshire.

The lessons, which will begin in September, will run six days a week at the pool – helping everyone to find a class that suits them. Two lessons will also be able to run at once in this 21m pool, allowing the swim school’s capacity to increase by more than 200 swimmers. Classes at Ashwicke Hall include Baby and Pre-School, and Swim Academy, teaching children from birth to 10 years old to love the water whilst learning to swim beautifully.

Sarah Austin, owner of Puddle Ducks Bristol and Bath, said, “We are delighted to be launching lessons at Ashwicke Hall pool in Wiltshire. Not only will it increase our capacity further, but the toasty warm pool will be a wonderful setting for our little swimmers to learn a key life skill.

“Its location means it is easily accessible from Chippenham and other areas of Wiltshire, reaching new post codes where people haven’t had easy access to our Puddle Ducks lessons before.”

The ability to run more than one class at once in the sizeable pool is beneficial for those with more than one child learning to swim. “The pool will be perfect for siblings of different ages, as we will be able to run Baby and Pre-school classes and Swim Academy simultaneously, meaning parents can take both children to lessons at once – saving time and making learning to swim much easier,” explained Sarah.

Puddle Ducks will have exclusivity of the pool, meaning children and parents are free to take their time and learn at their own pace in the company of other families. The warm pool will ease children into their swimming journey, and the pool benefits from large changing rooms and plenty of free onsite parking.
