A range of impressive facilities, spaces and resources at Hayesfield Girls’ School are being made available to hire to the local community of Bath. Facilities include The Roper Theatre and the Amy Williams Sports Centre, bookings are available during evenings, weekends and school holidays.

“Hayesfield Girls’ School already makes a number of its facilities available to hire to a wide range of sports and community groups, from badminton to dodgeball, from trampolining to martial arts clubs, to choirs and theatre groups,” explained General Lettings Manager Wayne Palmer. “Recently we have seen an upturn in demand for the facilities as more and more people become aware of what we have to offer.”

“Parking space is also available on site, which makes hiring the school facilities that much easier for members and guests.”

Among the most popular spaces for hire are The Roper Theatre Suite, a 250 tiered seater, fully air conditioned theatre with the option of additional seats on request. The hire space also includes a green room, changing rooms and a theatre control room as part of the price.

“The Roper Theatre has already proved very popular with a number of theatre schools and groups,” explained Wayne. “In addition, we’re holding a Jongleurs Comedy Evening on 29 September, as well as three performances of the pantomime, Cinderella, taking place on 17 December.”

The Amy Williams Sports Centre, meanwhile, is a large modern multi-sports indoor space with viewing gallery.  It includes a full-size netball court, full-size five-a-side football pitch, four badminton courts, a basketball court and shower facilities.

Other rooms/ spaces available include –  

  • Drama Room with a large open studio space, equipped with a small lighting rig, black curtains to create a performance area 8m x 4m.
  • A large all weather astro pitch, which includes a full-size netball court and full-size five-a-side football pitch that can be used for a variety other activities.
  • The Upper Oldfield Park Hall, a traditional school hall equipped with AV and projector, plus theatre-style seating for 200.
  • Refectory, offering a great area for interval drinks, speeches and gatherings
  • Refectory Extension with large sliding doors leading onto the terrace and outdoor areas. Ideal for meetings. 
  • Fitness Suite, complete with resistance and CV equipment along with free weights.
  • And two outdoor netball courts.
  • Plus many different size classrooms
