Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. It aims to provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at the charity’s hospices.
With a children’s hospice in Devizes, where one of Goughs offices is based, it was the perfect connection for the solicitors to build.
Emma Taylor, Partner at Goughs who oversees the Charitable arm of the firm, said, “We were all in admiration of the work undertaken by Julia’s House in caring for children and families at a time when they need it the most, and therefore really wanted to help them make a real difference to children across Wiltshire and Dorset.”
Through a variety of fundraising events including a Sky Dive by the brave and bold, an in-house Bake Off, various dress down days, a pub quiz and a ‘Buy-Your-Birthday-Off’ initiative, the team at Wiltshire-based law firm, Goughs Solicitors were delighted to have been able to support families when they need it the most.
Natalie Kemp, who bravely took part in the Sky Dive on behalf of Goughs commented, “This was really the most amazing experience ever, I recommend it to everyone! It is brilliant to be part of a progressive and forward-thinking firm who allow us the freedom to get out and about in our communities to contribute to such worthy causes.”
