PlanIt Future Financial Limited has been announced as the sponsor of The Mendip School’s sports kit, helping ensure the school’s teams have a winning chance in Inclusive Sports.
Rhiannon Gogh, Director of PlanIt Future Financial Limited, said, “It is a privilege to be able to sponsor the school in this way. The kit was really needed, the children were playing for the school in a mix of school uniform and ill-fitting, outdated sports kits. These were generally not a great incentive to represent the school and don’t represent the inclusive, exciting school that Mendip is.
“The young people are so enthusiastic about representing the school; there is fierce competition to be in the team, with everyone getting an equal chance and now there is branded PlanIt Future Financial Limited kit for all players, in all sports.’
Natalie Hanna, Head Teacher at The Mendip School, added, “We are so grateful to Rhiannon and PlanIt Future as we know having an official school kit will inspire the young people to take part in all the inclusive sports and tournaments with other special schools.
“For young people with special needs, taking part in sport can be challenging and daunting. The new environments, different people, noise and understanding of rules and competition can be difficult to engage with. These opportunities are vital for us to organise through school as children with social, emotional and communication needs can struggle to participate in team sports within their communities.
“Inclusion is growing but many of our students need additional support to access community provision and this is very difficult to access. We are so excited to launch the kit today and hope it brings on a winning streak!’
“The Mendip Special School caters for children aged 4-19 years with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Speech Language and Communication. Like all schools at the moment, The Mendip School is feeling the squeeze with rising energy costs and the costs of everything needed to provide support for our students. Having support from companies like PlanIt Future makes a vast difference to the school.
Lucy Beattie, fundraiser for The Mendip School, explained, “To have the support of parents, governors and sponsors like Rhiannon makes a huge difference to the school. Not only does it give the sports teams a huge boost but it boosts our enthusiasm to take part in the growing opportunities for inclusive sport.
“The sponsorship helps the team feel the part as well as helping the young people understand more about companies, work places and how engaging with the community is so beneficial. We hope that PlanIt Future is the first of many local sponsorship deals for the school and are hugely grateful to Rhiannon for her support.”
