TANKFEST 2023 takes place on 23-25 June at The Tank Museum at Bovington in Dorset and marks the museum’s 100th anniversary. It is also the biggest moving historic armour event in the world!
Over 24,000 visitors are expected to descend on The Tank Museum in Dorset for the three-day, 23-25 June, to enjoy live tank displays, living history and explore The Tank Museums unique collection.
TANKFEST has been a sell-out event since 2015 and currently only Friday and Sunday tickets remain but are selling fast.
“We have a jam-packed programme for this year’s TANKFEST. As well as the world-class tank displays, visitors can enjoy military demonstrations, a World of Tanks gaming zone, talks, a variety of traders and caterers, and even a parachute display on Friday,” said The Tank Museum’s Visitor Experience Manager Rosanna Dean.
NEW FOR 2023 – CURATED ARENA DISPLAY
For 2023, Curator David Willey has designed the arena displays to tell the century-long story of the tank in terms of the efforts made to counter it on the battlefield, focusing in on the key lessons and developments from each era.
The programme will feature a segment about the very first tanks, tanks from the 1920s and 30s, three separate displays on the Second World War, followed by the Cold War, new threats in modern warfare and the British Army Display. See TANKFEST.com for the full programme.
The audience will be treated to a more engaging and dynamic series of displays than ever before – with an emphasis on demonstration and spectacle.
With over 300 tanks from 26 nations, The Tank Museum holds the finest and most historically significant collection of fighting armour in the world. These range from the world’s first ever tank, Little Willie, through to the British Army’s current Main Battle Tank, Challenger 2.
Ten powerful exhibitions tell the story of armoured warfare spanning over 100 years of history. As you explore the Museum’s seven large halls, you come face with face to face with tanks and hear incredible true stories from the last century.
