For new mums who would love to return to exercise, Sweaty Mamas classes across West Wiltshire have a great solution. Aimed at mums who are looking to get back into exercise after birth, it is a unique and effective way to exercise with your child.
This means that there’s no need to organise childcare, with Sweaty Mama allowing you to bond with your child whilst you undertake the workout, utilising their weight to intensify the exercise.

Sweaty Mamas sessions take place across Wiltshire at Trowbridge, Westbury, Bradford on Avon, Holt and Shoscombe. The sessions are led by mum of two Radka Fichtnerova, who explained, “Sweaty Mama is an upbeat session choreographed to music which focuses on the key areas to help mums gradually rebuild their fitness as well as strengthening the pelvic floor and core muscles and realigning posture.
“We encourage mums – and mums to be – to undertake the suitable level for their own fitness journey, offering a range of exercise options to suit them and also the age and development of their child. Classes are focused on having fun, bonding with their child whilst enhancing their cardiovascular fitness, strength and tone in the key areas after birth through aerobic, resistance led and floor work.
“The sessions are designed so you can wear your little one in the baby carrier for the first half of the sessions. If you have an older baby they can just play and watch. Toddlers and older kids like to join in and have a dance with mum too!

“There is absolutely no judgment at Sweaty Mama classes! If your baby needs changing, feeding or an emergency potty break, that’s ok! We are all Mamas and we want to offer a space where you can feel safe, relaxed and supported.
“The children are able to benefit from social interaction with the other children as well as the security and closeness from their Mama.
“At Sweaty Mama we understand that every woman’s pregnancy, birth and recovery are unique. All of our instructors are Pre and Post Natal Fitness specialists. We prioritise fully getting to know our Mamas prior to and at our sessions to assist them individually as well as a group. We create a community environment and a safe place to exercise at an individual level with the expert advice to guide each Mama.”
One of the Mamas who enjoys the workouts said, “The sessions are fun, easy to follow and pitched at just the right level for a postnatal class. My little one is nine months old and he enjoys bouncing around in the carrier and being my ‘kettlebell’ when we do the floor work! It’s a great way to meet other mums in the local area too!”
